	According to the Sowetan newspaper, a member of the SAPS allegedly killed a three year old boy after apparently mistakenly identifying the boy as carrying a firearm. The mother of the three year old Atlegang Aphane, Ms Mapule Aphane said: 'I could not believe my eyes when I arrived at the scene. The police officer who shot my son was showing no remorse. He was busy eating a lollipop. I approached him and asked why he killed my son, but he looked at me as if I was crazy, said Aphane. A police officer identified only as Constable Malaka of the Alexandra police station appeared in the Thembisa magistrates court yesterday, reported the Sowetan newspaper.
