	Although the IFP declared their abhorrence with the burning at the University of Zululand, they are saying that there was reason why the angry mob burned the University and that they hope that other parties learn from this violent crime. The IFP says that the reason why vandals burned the University of Zululand on Tuesday is because the KZN IEC should have accepted SADESMO's election list as the IFP had advised. The Provincial Secretary of the IFP, Dr Bonginkosi Buthelezi said: 'Had the KZN Independent Electoral Commission listened to our voice of reason and accepted SADESMO's list, elections would have proceeded and vandals would not have had the reason to burn the university.' Furthermore he also stated that: 'We only hope that they will learn from this unfortunate incident.'
